Young people aged 14 to 21 years, born between 2004 and 2011, with and without disabilities.

What are the participation teams like?

Teams must have no fewer than five and no more than ten members. In addition, the balance rule of 25% - 75% must be observed according to the following options:

  1. At least 25% of team members must have a disability.
  2. At least 25% of team members must not have a disability.

They must also be supervised by either one or two tutors, who may be educators, leisure monitors, group leaders, etc., and must be supported by an entity with a legal personality such as a school or college, association, foundation...

What is the tutors' role?

The tutors may be educators, leisure or free-time monitors, group leaders, etc.

They must also belong to an entity with a legal personality such as a school or college, association, foundation, etc.

Tutors are responsible for:

  • Registering for the contest on the website.
  • Registering the team or teams on the website.
  • Acting as a contact point between the Fundación ONCE and their teams.
  • Coordinating mentoring sessions with the mentor or mentors assigned and teams advancing into PHASE 2.
  • Providing guidance and support to participants throughout all stages of the project.
  • Uploading the projects to their private area.

Can a team submit a person who is unrelated to any organisation without a legal personality of its own to be their tutor?

No. When filling out the participation form, all the tutors must affiliate themselves with some organisation with its own legal personality, such as a school, an association, a free-time or leisure group, etc. No one may participate on an individual base.

What if I don’t have the minimum number of people with a disability to create a team?

If you are interested in creating a project and participating in the X Talento Challenge but do not know enough participants with a disability in your circle, you can contact us and we’ll try to help you.

Do I have to justify the disability of the participants on my team?

There is no requirement to provide proof of disability of any team members to register in X Talento Challenge. However, if the contest organisers have doubts about the correct composition of any team or the team wins a prize, the appropriate certifications may be requested. If these are not provided, the right to the prize will be forfeited. The prize will be awarded to the next team or teams in the jury's classification. The same may occur if any participant, with or without disability, falls outside the age range for which the programme is intended.

Can youths register and participate on their own?

No, it is not possible. They must always be supervised by their tutor(s), who must be of legal age and affiliated with an entity that has its own legal personality.

Must the participants provide any personal data during the participation process?

No information of any kind will ever be requested from any of the participants in the team or teams created during the participation phase. Only the year of birth of each member will be requested to ensure that they meet the age requirements.

How many participation phases are there?

There are two participation phases and one phase for announcing the winners:

  • In PHASE 1, the working teams must provide an initial outline of their social impact project by completing the Project Summary Template, available in the private area.
  • In PHASE 2, each working team will present a Project Plan with the guidance of a mentor, as well as a document on Team Skills.
  • Finally, in PHASE 3: the announcement of the winners phase, the Jury will select two teams that will receive the prize of 5,000 EURO to put their positive social impact project into effect.

Are there any compulsory specifications for the work?
