FAQ
Who can participate in the X Talento Challenge?
Young people aged 14 to 21 years old, born between 2004 and 2012 at the time of registration, with and without disabilities.
What are the participation teams like?
Teams must have no fewer than five and no more than ten members. In addition, the balance rule of 25% - 75% must be observed according to the following options:
- At least 25% of team members must have a disability.
- At least 25% of team members must not have a disability.
To better understand the rule when forming teams, you can use the following MINIMUMS TABLE as a guide.
| TOTAL TEAM MEMBERS |
Minimum members WITH disability |
Minimum members WITHOUT disability |
|---|---|---|
| 5-6 | 1 | 1 |
| 7-10 | 2 | 2 |
They must also be supervised by either one or two tutors, who may be educators, leisure monitors, group leaders, etc., and must be supported by an entity with a legal personality such as a school or college, association, foundation...
What are the roles of the tutor or tutors?
The tutor or tutors can be teachers, leisure and free time monitors, group leaders, etc.
Additionally, they must be supported by a legal entity such as a school, association, foundation, etc.
The tutor or tutors will be responsible for:
- Registering for the contest on the website.
- Registering the team or teams through the website.
- Acting as a link between Fundación ONCE and the teams.
- Coordinating mentoring sessions with the assigned mentor or mentors, if they advance to PHASE 2.

Can a team submit a person who is unrelated to any organisation without a legal personality of its own to be their tutor?
No. When filling out the participation form, all the tutors must affiliate themselves with some organisation with its own legal personality, such as a school, an association, a free-time or leisure group, etc. No one may participate on an individual base.
What if I don’t have the minimum number of people with a disability to create a team?
If you are interested in participating in the X Talent Challenge but need to find participants with or without disabilities for your team, we encourage you to first look within your immediate circle (friends, colleagues, acquaintances). Experience shows that teams formed by people who already know each other tend to have greater cohesion and motivation to face the challenge.
However, if this is not possible for you, you can contact us and we will try to help you connect with other participants.
Do I have to justify the disability of the participants on my team?
To register for X Talento Challenge, it is not necessary to prove the disability of any team member. However, if the contest organiser suspects an correct composition of a team or if it wins an award, it may be required to provide the relevant certifications. If not provided, the team may lose the right to claim the prize, which would then pass to the next team(s) in the jury’s ranking. The same applies if any participant, with or without disability, does not meet the age range for which the programme is designed.
Can youths register and participate on their own?
No, it is not possible. They must always be supervised by their tutor(s), who must be of legal age and affiliated with an entity that has its own legal personality.
Must the participants provide any personal data during the participation process?
No information of any kind will ever be requested from any of the participants in the team or teams created during the participation phase. Only the year of birth of each member will be requested to ensure that they meet the age requirements.
